Karen Dufour
Karen graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2006 gaining a Masters degree in saxophone performance studying with Josef Pacewicz. During her studies she won the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s Apprenticeship Scheme, the Mary D Adams Prize for Chamber Music and reached the finals of the Edinburgh Concerto Competition performing the Glazanov Saxophone Concerto
Karen continued her studies as a soloist performing in masterclasses and workshops with Dr Frederick Hemke, John Harle, Kyle Horch, Steven Mauk, Evan Parker and Simon Haram.
She now performs classical and contemporary music around Scotland and has performed with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Telford New Symphony Orchestra. Other engagements include performing for Prince Charles and Lady Camilla Parker Bowles.
