Michelle Melvin

 

Michelle Melvin is a graduate of RSAMD, where she studied saxophone with Josef Pacewic and Phil Bancroft, and was awarded Governors’ Recital Prize for Chamber Music and The Mary D Adams Prize for Chamber Music.

 

With assistance from The Cross Trust and The RSAMD Trust Fund, Michelle continued to study saxophone, taking lessons from Bruce Weinberger (Rascher Saxophone Quartet) and participating in masterclasses by international soloists such as Vincent David and Dr Fredrick Hemke.

 

Michelle currently teaches saxophone within Glasgow and at the Aberdeen City Music School. With Sax-Ecosse she performs throughout Europe and is currently involved with Live Music Now! and Enterprise Music Scotland Residency Project. Michelle has performed with the National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain throughout Europe and the Far-East, and helped to promote both the Trinity Guildhall and ABRSM Jazz saxophone syllabi.
