Sax Ecosse is a vibrant and established saxophone quartet, which has enjoyed considerable success as a chamber ensemble throughout the UK and Europe since it was founded in 2004.
We are passionate advocates for original repertoire for saxophone quartet, but also play arrangements of a wide variety of classical and contemporary music. Recent engagements include The Edinburgh International Festival, Celtic Connections, and Minimal at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Outside the UK we have performed at the St Olav’s Festival, Norway, and the World Saxophone Congress in Slovenia.
We also place great importance on educational work, both as part of national programmes (as alumni of Live Music Now, and Enterprise Music Scotland), and as individual workshops or educational tours. We are all experienced in working with children, young adults and adults in a wide range of settings. All our workshops within the education sector meet the current criteria for the Curriculum for Excellence, and we can provide copies of our child protection policies on request.
We welcome all inquiries, whether you’re interested in our music, want to find our where we’re playing next, or would like to book us for your own event, festival or workshop. You can find a range of information on this website, or use the form on the Contact page and we’ll be in touch.

The sound of a saxophone quartet is slightly surprising. While a solo sax in a band can be loud and aggressive, four blend remarkably…disciplined ensemble…brilliant playingEdinburgh International Festival recital review, The Scotsman
